Leslie's Emerging Leaders Program

ALA President Leslie Burger began her presidency with six initiatives, http://lb.princetonlibrary.org. The one she asked me to work on is Emerging Leaders. This program is aimed at getting new leadership for ALA, its divisions, and chapters. Librarians under 35, or within five years of their MLS degree, were invited to apply to the six-month long program. It begins with a day before Midwinter in Seattle and concludes a day before Annual in DC. In-between, project teams will work in virtual groups on projects they will choose from a list.

So where are we? 350+ people applied--many more than we expected. A committee chose the 100+ participants with great difficulty. That list has been posted on Leslie's page above.
